Privacy policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
Mondo HK Limited operates the Mondo Robotics brand ("Mondo Robotics," "Mondo," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and otherwise process personal information when you visit or purchase from our website or online store; use our mobile applications, robots, controllers, firmware, software, support channels, or connected features; or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the "Services").
Our online store is powered by Shopify. Shopify processes certain personal information in order to provide and improve the online-store services. Some information processed through our store is also subject to Shopify's own privacy notices.
If there is a conflict between this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service concerning the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.
1. Personal Information We Collect or Process
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Services, the features you use, your settings and permissions, and applicable law. It may include:
- Contact and identity information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, shipping address, account username, profile details, and information needed to verify or service your account.
- Order and transaction information, such as products viewed or purchased, cart and wishlist activity, order status, returns, cancellations, delivery details, payment confirmation, and transaction history. Payment-card data is generally processed by Shopify and payment providers; we may not receive complete card details.
- Communications, such as customer-support requests, survey responses, feedback, warranty or repair information, and records of our communications with you.
- Website and online-service information, such as IP address, browser type, device and network identifiers, cookie identifiers, referring pages, and information about how you navigate or interact with our website and communications.
- App and product account information, such as registration details, authentication information, preferences, device bindings, and third-party sign-in information when you choose to use a third-party login.
- Robot, controller, and connected-device information, such as product model, serial number, firmware and app versions, activation and pairing status, controller settings, calibration and configuration data, battery or connection status, and other technical identifiers.
- Operation, sensor, and diagnostic information, such as control inputs, product status, feature interactions, error reports, crash data, diagnostic logs, performance information, and sensor or movement data needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or improve the product.
- Location and network information, such as Bluetooth and network-connection information and approximate or precise location when a feature requires it and you have enabled the relevant device permission.
- Photos, videos, audio, and related metadata ("Captured Content"). Depending on the feature and your settings, Captured Content may be processed on your device or transmitted to us or our service providers when you enable a connected feature, choose to upload, sync, export, or share content, submit content for support, or use a cloud-connected or AI-enabled feature.
- Information from optional product-improvement programs, if you choose to participate, such as device information, feature-usage data, diagnostic logs, and other information described when you enroll.
Some information, including precise location, audio, video, images of people, and information that may reveal biometric or other sensitive characteristics, may be considered sensitive under applicable law. We process such information only where reasonably necessary for the selected feature or another disclosed purpose, and obtain consent or provide additional notice where required.
2. Device Permissions and Camera Features
The Mondo App may request access to features on your mobile device, such as Bluetooth, local network, location, camera, microphone, photos or storage, and notifications. We request these permissions only when they are relevant to a feature you choose to use. You can manage permissions through your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working but should not affect unrelated functions.
When you use features such as automatic following, subject recognition, smart camera movement, video recording, content management, AI-assisted editing, highlight selection, cover recommendations, or video-quality optimization, the Services may process images, video, audio, sensor data, and related metadata as needed to provide the feature. Processing may occur on-device or through connected service providers, depending on the feature and your settings. Where applicable law requires separate notice or consent for cloud processing or sensitive information, we will provide it through the App or the relevant feature.
You remain responsible for using camera, microphone, tracking, and recording features lawfully and for obtaining any permission required from people whose image, voice, property, or other information may be captured.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- provide, operate, personalize, and maintain the Services;
- create and manage accounts; activate, bind, pair, and update products; and remember preferences;
- process payments, orders, deliveries, cancellations, returns, refunds, warranties, repairs, and customer-support requests;
- provide robot control, device connection, automatic-following, camera, editing, export, sharing, diagnostic, safety, and related features;
- authenticate users, protect accounts, detect fraud or misuse, secure the Services, and investigate product or safety incidents;
- diagnose faults, analyze performance, improve reliability, develop features, and conduct research and analytics, including through optional product-improvement programs;
- communicate with you about your account, purchases, service notices, security, product updates, and support;
- send marketing or promotional communications where permitted, subject to your choices and applicable consent requirements;
- comply with law, respond to valid legal process, enforce our terms and policies, resolve disputes, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Mondo, our users, and others; and
- carry out another purpose disclosed to you or authorized by you.
If we intend to use personal information for a materially different purpose, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required. This includes any materially different use of Captured Content, such as training a general-purpose artificial-intelligence model.
4. Sources of Personal Information
We may collect personal information:
- directly from you;
- automatically from your browser, mobile device, robot, controller, or connected Services;
- from Shopify and other service providers acting for us;
- from payment, fulfillment, logistics, analytics, advertising, authentication, support, or other business partners; and
- from third parties when you direct them to share information with us or otherwise authorize the sharing.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies to operate and secure the Services, remember preferences, understand usage, measure performance, and, where permitted, provide or measure advertising. You can manage certain choices through our cookie controls, your browser or device settings, and any opt-out tools made available through the Services. Blocking some technologies may affect functionality.
6. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including:
- to Shopify, which hosts and supports our online store;
- to service providers that support payment processing, order fulfillment, shipping, cloud hosting, data storage, IT, analytics, customer service, device connectivity, content processing, communications, security, fraud prevention, marketing, warranty, or repair services;

- to authorities, advisers, or other parties where reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; enforce our terms; protect rights, safety, and security; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel and providers who need it for their work and is subject to appropriate confidentiality, contractual, organizational, and technical controls. We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for purposes unrelated to the services they provide to us, except as permitted by law and disclosed to you.
7. Relationship with Shopify
Information you submit through our online store is transmitted to Shopify and relevant providers so they can operate and improve the store, process transactions, prevent fraud, and provide related features. Shopify may process this information in countries other than where you live. To learn more or exercise rights relating to Shopify's processing, please review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal.
Depending on where you live, you may have a right to opt out of uses considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under applicable law. You may use the data-sharing opt-out link made available on our website. Where required, we also recognize supported browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control.
8. International Data Transfers
Mondo, our affiliates, authorized personnel, and service providers may process personal information in the jurisdictions where we or they operate. Those jurisdictions may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, access restrictions, data-minimization measures, and recognized transfer mechanisms. For transfers from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this may include applicable adequacy decisions, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another legally recognized mechanism.
9. Legal Bases for Processing in the EEA and UK
Where EEA or UK law applies, we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you; compliance with legal obligations; your consent; protection of vital interests; and our legitimate interests or those of a third party, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. Our legitimate interests may include operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Services; preventing fraud; communicating with customers; and managing our business. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
10. Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to maintain accounts, provide the Services, meet contractual or legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information, the feature used, legal requirements, and operational need. We may retain de-identified information where it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or marketing; and to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions.
You may manage certain information and permissions in the App or your device settings, unsubscribe from promotional email using the link in the message, or contact us to exercise a privacy right. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
12. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age at which they may lawfully consent to the processing of personal information in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children without legally valid authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, platforms, or features. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and we are not responsible for services we do not control. Review those notices before providing information to a third party.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, products, technology, or legal obligations. We will post the revised version, update the "Last updated" date, and provide additional notice where required by law.
